Background:

The school occupies a large attractive and peaceful site within one of the leading development areas in Wales adjacent to the M4 corridor. A new teaching block opened in September 2002, with music suites and a drama studio complementing other specialist facilities. There are six ICT rooms and all departments are networked with internet access. Sports facilities include a sports hall, a gymnasium, an all-weather pitch, a cinder running track, tennis courts, two rugby pitches, a football pitch and an all-weather cricket pitch. The extra-curricular programme offers rugby, football, cricket, hockey, netball, trampolining, running, gym, badminton and tennis. Many pupils achieve national honours in rugby, football, cricket and athletics. Musicians can take part in the school orchestra, recorder group and choir. Further clubs cater for chess, debating, Christian Union, musicals, art and clwb siarad. The curriculum is supplemented with trips away from school. Residential courses concentrate on art, music, drama, sport and outdoor pursuits.Regular study visits to France and Spain; annual ski trip. The school has strong links with industry.
